CAREERS IN INTERNATIONAL LAW SEMINAR.
On March 18th the International Legal Studies Program co-sponsored an international career panel with International Law Society, the State Bar of California's Section of International Law, and the ABA Section of International Law.
he event was a great success. California Western School of Law Professor James Cooper moderated and four panelists including Joseph Lestyk, Patrick Martin, Richard Page, and Gary Perl spoke about their work as "international lawyers."
Panelists shared about the area of international law that they specialized in and what steps they took to get to the point they are now at.
They also gave students recommendations as to what employers look for in an associate and which tools students can add to their tool belts (i.e. language proficiency) in order to become a better candidate for a future position.
International Law Society hopes to be able to partner with the International Legal Studies Program, the State Bar of California and the ABA Sections of International Law again to co-sponsor more events like this in the future.
