Associate Dean for Academic Affairs William J. Aceves was named one of the Top Attorneys in the Academic Category by the San Diego Daily Transcript in July 2012. For years, Dean Aceves has represented several human rights and civil liberties organizations as amicus curiae counsel in cases before the federal courts. The Clinical Internship Office and ILSP continue to grow the number and scope of international internships. From the Chilean Public Defenders Office to international offices of the Big Three Accounting Firms, from top litigation firms in Tokyo to transnational arbitration in Buenos Aires, our students undertake some of the most cutting edge internship and clerkship experiences. Our students have interned at the UN Commission that fights human trafficking, the United Nations Space Agency, the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, the Organization of American States, OCEANA (a leading environmental non-governmental organization), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the Chilean Attorney General’s Office.
