Our work

For more than two decades, Proyecto ACCESO has promoted technology transfer in the legal sector – introducing judicial innovations like oral trials, DNA, diversion programs, drug courts, Intellectual Property projection, and other advances throughout the Americas.

These technologies have disrupted the legal sector as it moved into an era or transparency, efficiency and participation. Since the 1990s, many countries around the world ended dictatorships and transitioned from the Inquisitorial system of criminal procedure to the adversarial system.  This was one of the great disruptions in the post-Cold War era and Proyecto ACCESO was there every step of the way.

Funded in part by the Inter-American Development Bank, the Organization of American States, the United Nations Development Programme, and other international agencies and financial institutions, we have partnered with philanthropists, local governments, Indigenous Peoples, and non-governmental organizations to strengthen the rule of law.

Through ACCESO Tec, we have been at the forefront of the legal reform movement, utilizing new mechanisms to solve problems, both for society and individual clients.  In the last few years, we have turned our attention to other forms of technology and the legal issues that affect and are affected by such disruptions.
